Lian-Li is the first manufacturer to offer a package compatible with the new Thin ITX motherboard format (also called Thin Mini-ITX) developed by Intel, this is the Lian-Li PC-Q05.
We Recall that this format does not grow on trees, in fact in the moment, only Intel and Gigabyte announced motherboards with DH61AG and MSH61DI references. Thin-ITX format is a variation of the Mini-ITX, but ultra slim. Thus, the board must not exceed 25 mm in height, which means that the back panel is shorter than a standard Mini-ITX motherboard, and the memory board is lying, and is SO-DIMM format (as on laptops). Certainly, this type of motherboard will be available with an external power supply.
Anyway, we waited for Thin ITX compatible cases, and in fact Lian-Li is the first manufacturer to stand up the subject. Until we have more information and pictures on the PC-Q05, we can see that it is very thin, very sober, and could easily stay in a room.
